CCS Bishops’ Council

Bishop Robert Guglielmone of Charleston, Chair

As chair of CCS Bishops’ Advisory Council, Bishop Robert Guglielmone of the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina is the public face of this effort. For him, the challenge of Pope Francis to the Church of the United States and Canada requires all of us – bishops, clergy, religious, and laity – to enter into a process of transformation through which the Good News will be embodied in each local church.

“The five-year effort of Gathering for Mission holds the promise of transformational leadership here in the United States and Canada. It is the living witness of Pope Francis, doing the Gospel, which is at the heart of this venture.”

Rev. Tim Murphy
Chair of CCS’ Board of Trustees

Dear brothers, unless we train ministers capable of warming people’s hearts, of walking with them in the night, of dialoguing with their hopes and disappointments, of mending their brokenness, what hope can we have for our present and future journey?
